Monty Don, Rachel de Thame and Joe Swift host a week of gardening excellence from 2013's RHS Hampton Court Palace Flower Show. In the first of three programmes, Monty meets a tropical plant expert urging gardeners to think big and bold however small their garden. Joe and Rachel look at the show gardens offering new ideas this year and a group of army wives explain why they have brought their moveable vegetable garden to Hampton Court.

Garden writer Alys Fowler and designers Ann-Marie Powell and Andy Sturgeon join Monty Don, Joe Swift and Rachel de Thame at this year's RHS Hampton Court Palace Flower Show. The event has a countryside theme and so Andy Sturgeon looks at the best cottage garden plants on offer, while Ann-Marie is on the trail of must-have flowers for scent. Monty and Joe also take a look at the show gardens inspired by the Great British countryside, while Rachel discovers what makes 2013's Rose of the Year a winner.

Monty Don and the team continue their tour of the RHS Hampton Court Palace Flower Show. Monty and Chelsea designer Andy Sturgeon share their thoughts on 2013's conceptual show gardens, which offer unusual approaches to a range of thought-provoking subjects. Joe Swift and Ann-Marie Powell go shopping for the perfect garden in a pot, while Rachel de Thame meets the butterfly expert responsible for bringing a flight of tropical butterflies to a biome created at the show this year.
