On 20 May 2014 the horticultural highlight of the year opened with the 101st Royal Horticultural Society Chelsea Flower Show. As last minute preparations were being made by Britain's best growers and green-fingered designers, the team behind the BBC's coverage was able to show exclusive access from the showground, and to witness the highs and lows of preparing for this national celebration of British gardening.
- Day 1.
There's a fresh look to coverage of the most prestigious gardening show of the year, as Sophie Raworth and Joe Swift enjoy an exclusive look around the Royal Horticultural Society's 101st Chelsea Flower Show, 24 hours before the gates officially open. Andy Sturgeon, Nicki Chapman and Chris Beardshaw join them as well as Carol Klein, who takes a look around the Great Pavilion's must-see exhibits. Monty Don also shares the things he is looking forward to seeing in the week ahead.
Day 2.

Presenters Nicki Chapman and Andy Sturgeon host the first afternoon visit to the Royal Horticultural Society's 2014 Chelsea Flower Show. As the show enters a new era, Andy Sturgeon meets Matthew Childs, one of the young designers creating his first ever show garden at the event. And gardener and writer Christine Walkden chooses the first of her personal top ten plants at this year's show. - Day 2: Early Evening.
Join Sophie Raworth and Joe Swift for exclusive coverage of the 2014 RHS Chelsea Flower Show. As he celebrates 50 years in professional horticulture, Alan Titchmarsh talks to Joe Swift about his career and how it has influenced the design of his first Chelsea show garden in nearly 30 years. And Sophie visits the Great Pavilion to see another golden anniversary celebration - 50 years of Britain in Bloom. - Day 2: Late Evening.
Monty Don and Joe Swift have full coverage of Her Majesty the Queen's annual visit and a look forward to the medals hand out as the team predict the designers they think will scoop the top prizes. Monty and Joe also chat to actor Benedict Cumberbatch and his mother, the actress Wanda Ventham, as they share their favourite Chelsea moments.
Day 3.

It's medals day at the Royal Horticultural Society's Chelsea Flower Show. Nicki Chapman and Andy Sturgeon are up at dawn to discover who's won what as the medals are handed out by the Royal Horticultural Society. Carol Klein takes a closer look at the gold medal-winning exhibits in the Great Pavilion, and guests Julian Clary and his mum Brenda take a look around the show in a new feature titled Mum and Me. - Day 3: Late Evening.
Monty Don and Joe Swift reveal the gold medal show garden designs and talk to the designer who has won the prestigious Best in Show award. Carol Klein finds out what it takes to be named the best of the best in the Great Pavilion and Wayne Hemingway and wife Gerardine review the show.
Day 4.
- Day 4: Afternoon.
Every year the RHS Chelsea Flower Show offers new ideas for planting in small spaces, and that's the focus for this programme. Andy Sturgeon visits a tiny garden inspired by one of the Kensington Roof Gardens in London, while Rachel de Thame has take-home advice for planting combinations for containers. It is also time to celebrate the RHS Young Florist of the Year as British Florists Association events director Dennis van Wonderen demonstrates how to make a floral party dress as part of the competition challenge, and then Nicki Chapman chats to the jubilant winner. - Day 4: Late Evening.
Monty Don and Joe Swift look at more of the floral exhibits at this year's RHS Chelsea Flower Show. Joining them is presenter James Wong who visits a show garden that pays homage to the Wardian case, the Victorian invention that revolutionised the way plants were transported by the 19th century plant hunters. Plus garden designer Dan Pearson and Thomas Heatherwick, designer of the 2012 Olympic cauldron join Monty to share their thoughts on this year's event
Day 5.

Nicki Chapman and Andy Sturgeon take a look at the large show gardens vying for the public's support in this year's People's Choice Award, and explain how viewers can cast their votes. Christine Walkden shares another two of her top ten plants at Chelsea. Rachel de Thame conjures up another floral recipe and, following the Young Florist of the Year on Wednesday, it is time to find out who has won the title of Florist of the Year in the over 25 years category. - Day 5: Late Evening.
More coverage from the RHS Chelsea Flower Show, as Monty Don takes a look around a North American themed show garden and learns about the native planting grown specially for Chelsea. Carol Klein looks at exotic plants that are used for structure in a border. Joe Swift meets a tropical plant grower who has a passion for Rod Stewart and Rachel De Thame finds out the winner of the years Plant of the Year award.
Day 6.

TV historian Dan Snow chats to Nicki about his memories of gardening as a child when he visits the show with his mum, Ann. And, as the Royal Horticultural Society celebrates some of the country's most promising young horticulturalists, Andy Sturgeon goes to meet some of them as they tour the show. - Day 6: Early Evening.
With the winner of this year's People's Choice Award about to be announced, Chris Beardshaw and Joe Swift look at the top three show gardens vying for the title. And actress mother and daughter Joanna David and Emilia Fox chat to Sophie Raworth about their gardening influences and share their own views about this year's event. - Day 6: Late Evening.
Designer Chris Beardshaw joins Monty Don and Joe Swift to announce the designer who has won this year's People's Choice Award. And Carol Klein visits Great Pavilion regulars Hillier Nurseries as they celebrate their 150th anniversary with a stand that traces the company's history of plant breeding.
