Carol Klein presents a series which follows 20 gardeners as they attempt to have their gardens accepted into the demanding National Gardens Scheme.

Ep01 - We meet the Dingwalls in their 15th century farmhouse, with a traditional English garden made up of large new borders, two ponds and a courtyard, all in keeping with architecture of the house. And, in Wales we see a lush, tropical garden filled to bursting with scent, flowers and foliage.
Ep02 - Carol shows us the lush 2-acre family garden on a steep slope, designed for wildlife with shrubs and ponds. Also, we see the garden of a horticultural journalist full of exotic plants and grasses and is long and narrow with winding paths and a gravel courtyard.
Ep03 - The first garden we see features old stone walls, pond, deep flower borders a small greenhouse. Later, we see a terraced garden with many levels, with a strong geometric design and several different areas.
Ep04 - Carol visits a large hillside garden in Devon, full of perennials, shrub borders and ponds, as well as an unconventional small, walled garden full of sculpture and unusual pieces.
Ep05 - A difficult site on a very steep with fine views is planted with fruit and vegetables, as well as flower borders. Also a diverse garden for wildlife with a pond, shrubs and large mixed borders.
Ep06 - The first garden featured is high in the fells in Cumbria, and features a large working vegetable garden and a large cottage garden. Also, a split-level family garden in Wales has a terrace, summerhouse and beautiful lawns.
Ep07 - We first visit a very large garden with 6 lakes, terraces, fountains and grottoes--all beautifully groomed and developed grounds represent a lifetime's work. Also, a naturalistic garden in Devon with a beach, lakes and a formal fountain.
Ep08 - Fairy-tale garden inspired by Alice in Wonderland with topiary, a pond and good structure and a secluded, hidden garden in Devon, brimming with plants and wildlife.
Ep09 - First is an immaculate garden built on a steep slope, with sophisticated containers, clipped shrubs and well-designed plantings. Also, a unique natural garden on a river, that is left uncontrolled and uncultivated--which makes it an unlikely entry for the NGS.
Ep10 - First is a cleverly designed cottage garden in a coastal valley, with unique seaside and spiritual elements. Then a garden of curving paths and unusual plants that provides a sanctuary for the gardener.
