Monty Don plants a vine to grow dessert grapes and looks at varieties that can be grown outside as well as in a greenhouse. Carol Klein is at home in Glebe Cottage where she reveals a little of the fascinating history of one of our spring favourites, Trillium grandiflorum. Meanwhile Rachel de Thame explores a suburban, hidden garden with charms all of its own. Back at Longmeadow with Monty, it is time to break out the waders and clean up the pond. There is plenty to do in and out of the pond, including unwrapping the gunnera that has been packed away to protect it against the worst winter weather. Gunnera is among our biggest and most spectacular plants, but has Monty's survived the winter unscathed?
