Gardeners’ World s47e20 2014.

Monty's garden at Longmeadow is thriving in the summer sunshine and is looking more beautiful by the day. But the warm, wet weather has meant the hedges are growing like crazy and are in need of a good haircut - he has tips on how to best tackle this annual task. Carol returns to first-time gardeners Dan and Dominique in Gloucestershire where there's work to be done. There are borders to weed and plants to propagate so they have more of their favourites, for free, next year, and Rachel de Thame visits Coleton Fishacre in Devon, a beautiful seaside garden that has become a haven for all sorts of unusual plants

Sophie visits the Desert Park in Alice Springs to see some of the plants that thrive in the continent's harsh interior, Tino gives some tips on planting and training caneberries for an abundant and easy summer harvest, and Costa looks at some plants in the Desert Park that are significant to local aboriginal people. Also, Josh shows how he keeps his plants thriving with the right nutrition while John profiles a couple of his favourite climbing plants for winter colour.

Costa visits Tino to have a look at the recently renovated Patch to find out how it's going, Sophie plants some of her favourite climbing, shrub and miniature bare rooted roses for colour and fragrance, and the team continue to celebrate 25 years on air as Jane introduces one of her favourite stories from the GA archives. Also, Costa and Tino talk about the do's and don'ts of repotting and caring for large fruit trees in containers and Josh visits an old friend who is working with nature to create a large productive garden that's also low on maintenance.

Longmeadow is now under full sail but needs a gentle steer to keep it looking beautiful all summer long. In this episode, Monty cuts back his delphiniums and adds a touch of the exotic to his Jewel Garden, Carol is in Kent meeting lavender expert and breeder, Dr Simon Charlesworth, whose stunning walled garden is packed with many varieties of this beautifully scented plant, and Joe visits the founder of the Mulberry fashion label, whose Somerset garden is a design classic.

RHS Tatton Park Flower Show 2014.

Pt1
Monty hosts the first of two visits to the RHS Flower Show, Tatton Park in Cheshire with Carol Klein and Joe Swift. There's a carnival theme across the show ground and the team explore the show gardens, the famous flower bed displays and take a closer look at the plants and flowers in the Floral Pavilion wowing the crowds.

Pt2
Monty and the team are joined by gold medal winning Chelsea flower show designer Adam Frost to celebrate the joys of growing your own fruit and vegetables. Monty takes a look at the gardens based on the elements; earth, wind, fire and water and we meet the gardeners competing to be crowned Young Designer of the Year before the RHS judges make the big announcement.
