The very best of Geoff Hamilton
Geoff Hamilton was undoubtedly the nation's most popular gardener, with his blend of down-to-earth practical advice, money-saving ideas and sheer enthusiasm for everything to do with gardening. Barnsdale, his own garden in Rutland, became almost as familiar to the millions of viewers who tuned into Gardeners' World each week as their own backyard.
The Barnsdale Collection features extracts from Geoff's final years with the program, before his death in 1996. He demonstrates season by season, in his own inimitable way, all the essential techniques - from pruning to propagation, from laying paving to tending lawns - invaluable for new gardeners and for those with more experience who welcome a gentle reminder of how it should be done.
Geoff also shows how to make your own stream, how to build two different herb gardens - one traditional, the other unashamedly modern - and how to create a rockless rock garden.
