Britain's coastline numbers amongst the most beautiful and dramatic in the world, but for gardeners it can be the most treacherous. With 120mph salt laden gale force winds making creative gardening so close to the sea almost impossible. Yet it is possible to create a lush, inviting oasis despite the conditions. Gardening on the coast really is gardening on the edge of horticulture - the very limit of what we can grow in this country.
